The SG Walluf is a football club from the Hessian town of Niederwalluf .
history
The club was first launched under the name SV Niederwalluf . The founding meeting took place on January 30, 1932 in what was then the Zur Rose inn on Johannisbrunnenstrasse. The initiators of the founding of the association were Julius Ganns, Josef Hopf, Franz Kiefer, Konrad Mager, Wilhelm Walter and Valentin Hammer. Hammer was also appointed acting first chairman.
With the support of Niederwallufer Mayor Spiegelalter, a sports field was built on the connecting road to Schierstein . This served as a venue until 1960. Then, in the immediate vicinity, an old rubble site was filled, on which today's sports area was built.
After the end of the Second World War, the association was revitalized in the late summer of 1945 by former members under the name of SG Ober- and Niederwalluf . After founding its own sports club in Oberwalluf in 1951 and the associated resignation of numerous members, the club was renamed SG Walluf .
Sporting successes
The greatest sporting success in summer 2000 was promotion to the fourth-class Oberliga Hessen . After two seasons, SG Walluf rose again in 2002 from the national league.
