Called SJ Zss 106 was developed by the Swedish railway company Statens Järnvägar a (SJ) diesel-electric locomotive procured. It was mostly used by SJ in the handover service and at train stations.
history
The Zss 106 was built in 1940 by Kockums Mekaniska Verkstads Aktiebolag in Malmö with the serial number 140 based on a Danish model with diesel-electric power transmission. The locomotive had an 8-cylinder Frichs 8185CB diesel engine . The energy transfer took place according to the ASEA-Åkerman system developed by Johan Åkerman.
Almost immediately after construction, the Second World War broke out, during which the locomotive was shut down due to an oil shortage. The locomotive was very loud and vibrated heavily.
SJ Zss (II) 106
Since it was determined that a locomotive of the Zss series - the completely different Zss 105 - already existed at the time of first occupation , it was sorted into the new Zss (II) series very soon after delivery , while the 105 to the SJ Zss (I) series has been.
SJ Z6 (II)
As part of the numbering plan change in 1942 for small locomotives at SJ , the locomotives were included in the SJ Z6 (II) 106 series .
The machine was parked from 1942 to 1945 and was then entrusted with the transport of freight and passenger trains on the route between Klippan and Eslöv .
SJ Z69 (II)
The last redesignation took place in 1956 when the locomotive was given the series designation Z69 (II) .
Whereabouts
After several problems with the diesel engine, it was shut down in 1966 and scrapped in Vislanda in autumn 1967 .
