Men's soccer

history

During the war, from 1939 to 1946, those responsible shut down club life because the football clubs in Innsbruck were greatly reduced.

Post-war years

After the war, from October 24, 1946, the association reorganized its structures. The first records, from the 1947/48 season, were the sports club in the B-class Innsbruck-Stadt and from 1949/50 in the 2nd class Oberland. In 1952 the Wiltenern succeeded in advancing to the Landesliga Tirol and stayed there until 1954. Konrad Gruska retired as chairman after 24 years, his successor was Hubert Hagmann. Under him, the club rose a second time in the Landesliga Tirol and stayed until 1960/61. During this time, in 1959, the club also founded an ice hockey division, which split off in 1962.

New club structures

The Wilten people organized their club structures in the 1970s and elected their first president, Egon Jäger. Under him, the club won a sponsor who worked with the Wiltenern until 1981. Nevertheless, the sports club remained in the lowest Tyrolean leagues. Franz Barenth became president in 1978 and under him the team made it to the regional league west in 1984.

1985–1999 syndicate with ESV Innsbruck (regional league, 1st class)

From the 1985/86 season, the Wilten decided to enter into a syndicate with ESV Innsbruck . But the sporting success did not materialize and the descent into 1st class could not be avoided. Only after seven years, with a new sponsor, the club rose to the regional league in 1993. Six years later, in 1999, Wilten ended the syndicate.

In the meantime, Rudolf Kazelor passed the management of the association on to Franz Götsch, who took over the office from March 20, 1992 and held it until 2002. In 1993 the club celebrated its 70th anniversary and the Wilten-based team won the championship title in 1st class west with the syndicate. The B team also won first place in the middle 1B in the 1992/93 season.

1999/2000 syndicate with FC Veldidena Innsbruck

With the end of the syndicate with ESV Innsbruck, the club entered into another syndicate with FC Veldidena , which was founded in the same district and with which the sports club already had a cooperation in the youth field. But after a year of regional league west, both clubs ended the community and also dissolved the cooperation in the youth field.

Independent

After the game community with FC Veldidena Innsbruck, the Wilten decided to be independent again and only to enter into cooperation in the youth field. Union Innsbruck will be presented in this area from 2002. In November 2002 Manfred Obermeier took over the management of the club, in June 2009 Michael Plattner, in July 2011 Gastl Markus and since March 2015 Ante Polzinger. The first team has been playing in the District League West since the 2017/18 season.
