STX ( S marter T echnology e X tension ) is a form factor for embedded module PCs . This industry standard was developed in 1999 by IBS MM as the successor to the PC / 104 standard and presented at the CeBIT trade fair in February 2000. Like the PC / 104, the STX module is 90.17 mm × 95.89 mm. In addition to the ISA bus and the PCI bus, the STX module also includes the signals to the peripherals and the interfaces (including eIDE , FDD , parallel port , two serial interfaces , keyboard and mouse , two USB interfaces , Ethernet , audio (AC97) , VGA and flat panel interface ) to two 200-pin connectors each . The STX modules are designed with individually for the application developed baseboards to be used. The application-specific hardware z. B. interconnected with the ISA or PCI bus, the interfaces of the module provided with the additionally required wiring and routed to the outside and the power supply adapted.
