Suma Awards

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Suma Awards ( spelling SUMA Awards or SUMA Awards ) were cultural prizes awarded annually from 2008 to 2015 by the German network culture association Suma e. V. Since 2018 the prices have been converted into scholarships for students at German universities and colleges.

Structures

According to the statutes, the Suma Awards were given "for work or projects that are essential for a good life in a digital world". Since 2018, the awards have been given to students in the form of scholarships. In order to receive a SUMA scholarship, it is also crucial that the topic of the work is of general importance for search engine technology.

The scholarship can be granted with a maximum of 1000 euros per month for a maximum period of one semester (6 months). The applicant's economic situation is not decisive here - an application can also be successful if the applicant is already receiving financial support from other sources.
