SV 08 Auerbach
The SV 08 Auerbach e. V. is a sports club from the city of Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate . It was created in 2008 through the merger of SV Rot-Weiß Welluck with ASV Auerbach. The purpose of the association is to promote sport. The club offers basketball , football , gymnastics , handball , children's gymnastics , running , Nordic walking and swimming .

The club became known nationwide through its handball department, whose first men's team played in the Bavarian Handball League from 2009 and rose to the 3rd league as the undefeated champion in 2012 , from which they were relegated after two seasons as penultimate. As champions of the Bayern Handball League 2015, they immediately returned to the 3rd division. On April 12, 2016, the management and the division management announced that there would be no notification of participation in the 3rd division at DHB for the 2016/17 season. Thus, from the 2016/17 season they started in the Landesliga Staffel Nord and reached 10th place in the table, which was enough to keep them up.
Two men's teams take part in the game. In the youth field, a syndicate , the SG Auerbach-Pegnitz, was founded with ASV Pegnitz , in which male and female teams from A to D youth play.
