Handball Bayern League

The Handball-Bayernliga (OL-BY) is one of the twelve squadrons of the handball league of the German Handball Federation and the top division of the Bavarian State Association (BHV). The Bayernliga is one of the fourth highest division in German handball after the Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga and the 3rd League .

Over the course of a season, the 14 teams in the Bayern League compete against each other in a home and return game. After the end of the resulting 26 match days, the first team member will be promoted to the 3rd division, while depending on the number of relegated teams from the 3rd division, the last-placed two to five teams will have to relegate to the two relays of the regional league.

For women, 14 teams are currently competing in the Bayernliga, promotion and relegation will be decided after the 26 match days as with the men.
