SV Roland Bremen

The SV Roland Bremen was a sports club from Bremen . After the Second World War, the table tennis teams belonged to the top German.

The association had several top performers, especially for women; The early successes include the Bremen district team championships for women in May 1947 and March 1948.

The women's team achieved their greatest success at the German team championship in 1948/49 in Frankfurt am Main . Here she took third place behind TSV Union Wuppertal and Eintracht Frankfurt . After victories against Schweinfurt 05 (5: 1) and Victoria Hamburg (5: 0) and a 5: 4 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, the team around Gertraud Reuthe, Anni Gries, Glyszinski, Kölle, Schimmek and Vehlies reached the second round. Here they lost to Union Wuppertal 7: 2. In the game for third place, the Stuttgarter Kickers were defeated 6: 3.

A year later, the team came in second at the Lower Saxony Championship. Little is known about the further development until 1960, when the company was promoted to the Oberliga Nord.

The men's team played in the Lower Saxony Oberliga in 1948/49 and 1949/59. The top leagues were the highest German table tennis leagues back then.

In 1948/49, players from SV Roland Bremen achieved top places in singles and doubles at the Lower Saxony state championships. In 1948 in Lüneburg, Gertraud Reuthe and Diekmann from SSV Delmenhorst took second place in the women's doubles, while in Osnabrück in 1949 Hahn also came second in the men's singles.

In 1957, the women's team played in the Bremen women's league and also reached the intermediate round of the North German women's championship as national champions.

In 1967 the women's team played in the Verbandsliga Nord as in various previous years; thereafter no further activities of the association are known.
