The SV Thaur is an Austrian football club from the town of Thaur in District Innsbruck-Land in Tyrol and was founded in the 1952nd The Thaurer's greatest success in the 1964/65 season was their participation in what was then the third-class Tyrolean League. The fighting team plays in the Landesliga West.
history
In the Waldhäusl inn, the first chairman Anton Öttl, Rudolf Draxl, Josef Giner, Romed Öttl, Johann Pirchner, Romed Pirchner, Rudolf Pirchner, Adolf Plattner, Romed Unsinn founded the soccer club Schwarz-Weiß Thaur on August 1st, 1952, which on December 7th 1958 joins the Tyrolean Football Association and which was renamed Sportverein Thaur. The club played the first home games of the championship in 1959 on the Haller Lend .
The Thaurers began building the sports field in the '' Stoanach '' in 1961 and inaugurated it on April 23 as a hard court, immediately afterwards they erected a cabin building and a club canteen until 1978. During this time the club celebrated the greatest success in their club history, the promotion to the Landesliga Tirol, in which they played for a year.
At the beginning of the 1990s, both were demolished, replaced by a skate and leisure park and a common building was built for the tennis club and the sports club, in which the changing rooms and the canteen are located.
The sports club played in the West Regional League in the early 1990s and was relegated to the West Regional League in 1994. The Thaurer remained in the Regional League West until 2003. In the period from 2003 to 2018 they were either in the regional league (west and east) or in the regional league west. They have been playing in the Landesliga West since 2018.
