Sa Coveccada
Sa Coveccada is the largest dolmen in Sardinia . It is located on the Logudoro plateau near Mores in the Sassari province .
The rectangular dolmen made of five large-format plates of pink trachyte has largely been preserved. Only the rear wall and parts of the capstone, which originally weighed 27 tons, are missing. The dolmen cannot be precisely dated due to a lack of finds. However, based on the architecture of the front panel, which is based on forms that also show the tombs of the giants and southern French facilities such as the Dolmen de Gallardet , it is certain that it is Protonuragic and therefore older than 2000 BC. Is. It is 2.7 m high and has a length of five meters. In the left side panel, just behind the front panel, there is a flat but more than one meter long side niche.
Nearby are the Domus de Janas by Su Crastu de Santu Eliseu and Su Stampu 'e sa Fata.
