The 805 m long bridge consists of a foreland bridge on the right bank of the Saale with eight openings each with 56 m span and one with 46 m span as well as the river bridge spanning a maximum of 180 m with two edge fields of 65 m span.

The approach bridge has two separate superstructures and is a prestressed concrete structure with the continuous beam as a structural system in the longitudinal direction. Single-cell box girder cross-sections exist in the transverse direction.

The 310 m long main bridge is a steel arch bridge . The arches, with a stitch of around 38 m, are inclined towards each other and connected by six crossbars. Diagonal struts at the arch base lead part of the arching forces as tensile forces back into the main carriageway girders, whereby a mixture of the load transfer of a real arch bridge and a tied arch bridge is present. The river bridge has ten cross members to which the hangers are attached. They are made of round steel, have a diameter of 180 mm or 200 mm and are equipped with vibration dampers . At 3.1 m, the superstructure has the same construction height as the approach bridge. The deck is designed as a composite structure with two composite box girders.
