The Saana ( North Sami SANA ) is a 1029 m high Fjell ( tunturi ) northwest of the Finnish province of Lapland .
It is located in the far northwest corner of the country not far from the Finnish- Swedish - Norwegian border triangle . Like the highest mountain in Finland, Haltitunturi , about 50 km away , it belongs to the Scandinavian Mountains .
The Saana rises 556 m above the village of Kilpisjärvi at the foot of the mountain , named after Lake Kilpis (Kilpisjärvi = Kilpis Lake). From there, the summit can be reached via a four-kilometer hiking trail.
