Saara Loikkanen (today Saara Esko , born May 31, 1980 in Savonlinna ) is a Finnish volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career hall
Loikkanen started her career with Oriveden in 1996 and won the Finnish championship in 1997. She also won three cups from 1996 to 1998. After the second place in the championship in 1998 there was the next title win in 1999. Since 1998 she has also played in the Finnish national team . In 1999 the outside attacker went from Euran Raiku to Someron Pallo and in 2000 to Pieksämäki Volley.
From 2001 to 2004 Loikkanen played for the German Bundesliga club SSV Ulm Aliud Pharma and was German champion and cup winner here in 2003 . In 2004 she was also represented in the rankings of German volleyball . She then went to Belgium for one season to Datovoc Tongeren , with whom she was Belgian champion and cup winner in 2005. From 2005 to 2010 she played in Italy with Megius Volley Padua , Yamamay Busto Arsizio and Universal Volley Modena .
Career Beach
Loikkanen has played beach volleyball on a national level since the mid-1990s. With Riikka Lehtonen she became Finnish champion in 1998 and 1999. In 2003 she ended beach volleyball activities in favor of her international indoor career.
Private
Saara Loikkanen is married to the Finnish national volleyball player Mikko Esko .
