The Sabatti spa is since the early 18th century Italian existing weapons manufacturer whose current corporate form was founded 1960th It is based in Gardone Val Trompia near Brescia , as is the better-known weapons manufacturer Beretta .

history

The company is one of the oldest still existing family-owned arms manufacturers in Europe. It was founded by the arquebus maker Lodovico Sabatti (1674–1745), known in Val Trompia for his high-quality flintlock pistols and as a manufacturer of gun barrels . In the first half of the 19th century, Giuseppe Sabatti forged gun barrels from damascus steel . In 1848, the provisional government of Brescia asked not to use the “blood” of the craftsmen of Val Trompia in defense of the nation, but to demand their “craftsmanship”. Four out of ten manufacturers of gun locks , today's gunsmiths, belonged to the Sabatti family.

From 1946 onwards, Antonio Sabatti and the gun manufacturer Giuseppe Tanfoglio gave new impetus to gun production, especially shotgun parts . The preference was repeatedly on the manufacture of weapon locks, the core competence of Sabatti. In 1956, Sabatti and Tanfoglio began producing defense pistols, only to split up the company and the manufacturing areas four years later, which resulted in the re-establishment of the company by Antonio Sabatti's sons, as Sabatti spa, initially for the production of shotguns.

The company is run by the three grandchildren Antonio Sabbati's, Emanuele, Antonio and Marco, who after the expansion of production has grown into a respected company in the production of hunting rifles and continues in the family tradition of manufacturing hunting and sporting weapons .

Products

Sabatti spa produces shotguns , combined weapons and single-shot , multi-loader and self-loading rifles , primarily for hunting purposes, but also for sporting purposes. The weapons largely follow the traditional Italian armory, with sometimes rich decorations on the lock parts , functional and decorative intersections of the stock parts and, not least, through the use of high-quality and richly grained woods for the stocks.

Furthermore, Sabatti spa produces assemblies for telescopic sights .
