Sabine Brogle (born May 3, 1965 in Ettenheim ) is a German disabled athlete , multiple European champion , world champion and medalist at the Paralympic Games .

Life

Sabine Brogle was born in Ettenheim on May 3, 1965. She has been paraplegic since a motorcycle accident in 1983 . She is a trained English business correspondent and has been employed as a peer in nursing at the BG Unfallklinik Murnau since 2002 . She currently lives in Altdorf.

Despite her severe disability, Brogle did not want to do without exercise. She chose shooting sports as a discipline. Her branches within shooting sport are standing air rifles with 40 shots (competition R2) and small caliber three-position, 3x20 shots (competition R8).

Due to a shoulder injury, Sabine Brogle was unable to compete in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio. According to her own information, she wants to compete in Tokyo 2020 .

Sporting successes

Paralympic Games

Sabine Brogle has so far participated in the Paralympic Games in Atlanta 1996 , Sydney 2000 , Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 . She was able to win bronze three times and silver twice.

World championships

Between 1993 and 2014 Brogle took part in four world championships. She was once world champion in the team ranking, once vice world champion in the individual ranking, twice vice world champion in the team ranking and three times third in the individual ranking.

European championships

Between 1993 and 2005 she took part in five European championships. She was twice European champion in the individual ranking, five times vice European champion in the individual ranking, four times vice European champion in the team ranking and once third in the team ranking.

Silver bay leaf

In 2005 she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for her athletic achievements .
