Sabine Fiedler

Sabine Fiedler (born December 9, 1957 in Gorndorf ) is a German linguist who teaches at the University of Leipzig .

Sabine Fiedler studied English and Russian at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and did her doctorate in English linguistics. Since 1986 she worked at the University of Education in Leipzig, then at the University of Leipzig. In 1999 she completed her habilitation in general linguistics (in interlinguistics ).

Her main research interests include phraseology, interlinguistics / Esperantology, language politics and lingua franca communication. Since 2011 she has been chairwoman of the Gesellschaft für Interlinguistik e. V.
