biography

Sabine Lichtenfels was born in Germany in 1954 into a middle-class family. She had the idea of founding a peace village early on. She studied theology because she was interested in Jesus, whom she saw as a revolutionary. In 1978 she met the former student activist and book author Dieter Duhm , with whom she set up a private peace research project that is now known as Healing Biotope 1 Tamera in Portugal. Their common plan of the peace research villages says that the establishment of several peace research villages in different parts of the world will trigger an overall healing process. These settlement models should function on the basis of community, cooperation with nature as well as truth and feminine knowledge in love.

In 1999 Sabine Lichtenfels founded the youth school Global Learning . In 2004 she and Marko Pogačnik built a stone circle in Tamera as a planetary, artistic and spiritual peace monument. In 2005 she led a peace pilgrimage with around 50 international participants through Israel / Palestine. The filmmaker Angelika Reicherter shot the full-length documentary We refuse to be enemies about it .

Sabine Lichtenfels was nominated as one of 1000 women for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize for Portugal. Every November 9th, she invites you to a peace meditation under the name GRACE . In 2006 it took place at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, in which around thirty groups worldwide took part at the same time. In 2007 she was in Bethlehem at the Israeli separation wall on November 9th. This time over 70 groups worldwide took part in the meditation for "Global GRACE Day". In 2008 the meditation took place in the peace village of San José de Apartadó in Colombia as part of an international GRACE pilgrimage through Colombia.

From 2006 she has been leading Monte Cerro , a three-year peace experiment and peace training period with 200 participants in Tamera, Portugal. Subsequently, another peace village in the Middle East will be built with the knowledge gained there. In October 2007 she led another peace pilgrimage through the Middle East together with the Sufi teacher Annette Kaiser : four weeks with up to 170 participants on foot from Eilat in southern Israel through the Arava desert through the West Bank to Jerusalem, a distance of 350 km .

In 1988 she published a book as editor with the title “Save Sex. A Manifesto by Women for a New Sexual Humanism ”. In a post in it, the founding of a humane brothel called the Meiga-Haus was announced.
