Sabine Swoboda (lawyer)

Sabine Swoboda (* 1975 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Life

From 1994 Swoboda studied law at the University of Passau , where she passed her first state examination in law in 2000. Two years later she completed her doctorate with Werner Beulke in Passau. Another year later, she passed her second state examination at the Munich Higher Regional Court . From 2004 she worked as Beulke's research assistant. During this time Swoboda also worked on her habilitation, which she completed in 2012 after a research stay from 2005 to 2006 at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. She received the venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure law and international criminal law.

In the winter semester 2011/12 and the following summer semester Swoboda was visiting professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin at the chair of Gerhard Werle . In the 2012/13 winter semester she was Joachim Vogel's chair at the University of Tübingen . Since the summer semester 2013 Swoboda has held her own professorship with the Chair for Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and International Criminal Law at the University of Bochum .

In addition to general criminal law and criminal procedure law, her main research interests are primarily international criminal law and juvenile criminal law.
