Heidi Sabelus

Heidi Sabelus (born December 23, 1942 in Plauen , Vogtland ) is a German ceramist . She lives and works in Berlin .

Life

After an apprenticeship at the Colditz porcelain factory, she studied from 1962 to 1967 at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art with Wolfgang Henze, Rudolf Kaiser , Herbert Behrens-Hangeler , Friedrich Bundtzen and Friedrich Panndorf.

Her work includes objects made of ceramics, glass and paper that have been created in her own workshop since 1970. Sabelus created a variety of ceramic vessels, glasses and architecture-related works, including a vase ensemble for the guest house of the city of Berlin, a series of glasses produced in the Weißwasser glassworks and various ceramic murals.

From 1994 to 2014 she was the artistic supervisor of support programs for mentally handicapped students and young adults as part of the work of the Art und Weise eV association
