Sabri Al-Haiki

Sabri Al-Haiki ( Arabic صبري الحيقي, DMG Ṣabrī al-Ḥayqī ; Born December 25, 1961 in Akaba, Taiz, Yemen ) is a Yemeni artist , poet , critic , researcher and author .

biography

Sabri al-Haiki began his literary and artistic career around the age of fifteen. In 1985 he received his Bachelor's degree in Critique and Theater Literature from the Higher Drama Institute in Kuwait and in 1995 a Higher Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Administrative Sciences in Sana'a . This was followed by the higher diploma for acting and criticism (2002-2003) and then the Master of Dramatic Arts at the Academy of Arts in Cairo (2003-2006).

He published his poetic works and critical writings in newspapers and specialist magazines.

He is a founding member of the Modern Art Group , a member of the Yemeni Writers' Association, a member of the Arab Writers Union and a founding member of the Yemeni Artists .

Al-Haiki is one of the pioneers of Yemeni theater and the first academic in dramatic criticism in Yemen. The Ministry of Culture awarded him the Badge of Honor for the Pioneers of Yemeni Theater in addition to a cash prize in 2010.
