Sabri Godo

Sabri Godo (born August 8, 1929 in Delvina , † December 3, 2011 in Tirana ) was an Albanian writer and politician . He was best known for his historical novels about Skanderbeg and Ali Pascha Tepelena . Godo also wrote scripts for films.

Life

After the anti-communist revolution in Albania in 1990/91, Godo founded the Republican Party (PR) in 1991 and became its first chairman. From 1992 to 2001 he represented his party as a member of the Albanian Parliament . He was one of the major designers of the Albanian constitution and was considered a cultivated and experienced politician.

Sabri Godo last suffered from a serious lung disease. He was hospitalized on November 22, 2011 and died on December 3, 2011.
