Sabrina Ferilli (born June 28, 1964 in Rome ) is an Italian film and theater actress . While she is one of the most famous actresses in Italy, she achieved little popularity abroad.

resume

Since the mid-1980s, Ferilli starred regularly in Italian films, television series, and theatrical productions. While her fame stems primarily from her films, the theater has always remained her greater passion.

Ferilli's father was spokesman for the Lazio Regional Council of the Italian Communist Party . Ferilli was strongly influenced by his political orientation and makes no secret of her left political orientation.

Ferilli's career began while working at Rome's prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and appearing in local theaters. Supporting roles in films followed from 1986. It was important not to be limited to her feminine charms, for which she made her voluptuous body an easy target. Her first leading role was in Americano Rosso in 1990. This should be the high point of her film career. Other leading roles in less successful films followed. The most important of these was Diario Du Un Vizio by Marco Ferreri from 1993, which won a prize at the Berlin Film Festival. However, Ferilli got worse and worse roles and was henceforth limited to appearances in second-rate flicks. On Italian television she became very popular through her role in the series Commesse from 1999 by Giorgio Capitani . In 2008 she made a comeback and won a Nastro d'Argento for her role as Daniela in the film The Whole Life Is Before You .

Her internationally best-known film to date is Paolo Sorrentino's La Grande Bellezza - The Great Beauty , which premiered at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival and received the Oscar and the Golden Globe in the category Best Foreign Language Film in 2014 and four awards at the 2013 European film award won. He was also awarded three Nastro d'Argento in 2013, one of which again went to Ferilli personally as Best Supporting Actress .

Ferilli was married to the Italian lawyer Andrea Perone from 2003 to 2005. She is also known for her feminine curves. However, contrary to popular claims, she never had breast augmentations performed on her .

Others

Ferilli is a well-known supporter of the Italian football club AS Roma . She is a member of the club council founded by fans. In 1998 Ferilli announced that he would perform a public striptease the next time AS Roma won the Italian championship. After AS Roma won the title in 2001, she kept her promise and undressed to underwear. The action was also controversial because Ferilli had declared himself a Lazio fan in the past.

The most successful photo calendar of the men's magazine MAX in Italy is the one with Sabrina Ferilli from 2001, of which over a million copies were sold.
