Sack load

The sack load was a common measure of the volume of grain in Gdansk and was used particularly by bakers . The measure was mentioned in a petition to the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Johann III. Sobieski from 1677.

In contrast to this measure, the normal load was smaller and so it applied

  • 1 load = 3 ¾ Malter = 60 bushels
