Sacy von Blondel , actually Sári Megyery de Vasgyer (born July 28, 1897 in Balassagyarmat , † February 5, 1983 in Paris ) was a Hungarian film actress in German and Hungarian silent films and a writer .

Live and act

Sacy von Blondel, who comes from the far north of Hungary, received her artistic training in the middle of the First World War and made her debut in 1916 in front of the camera alongside Oskar Beregi and Camilla von Hollay . In the same year she moved to Berlin and worked in the following six years with leading and supporting roles in a number of less important German films. In 1920 she temporarily returned to Hungary for some film roles.

After her career in Germany silted up, Sacy von Blondel returned home to Budapest, but hardly appeared in front of the camera. In 1932 she finally stopped acting and began to publish as a writer (volumes of poetry, prose, theater reviews). However, some of their work received very bad reviews. In 1938 Sacy moved from Blondel to Paris, after which hardly anything was heard from her. In 1955 she received a teaching position from Cambridge.

Private

Sacy von Blondel's first marriage was to the director Béla J. Gerőffy, who had committed suicide after they separated. In 1939 she married the French author and journalist André Lang (1893–1986).
