Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani (born April 14, 1978 in Nok Kundi ) is a Pakistani politician and chairman of the Senate of Pakistan . On March 12, 2018, he took his oath of office as member and chairman of the Pakistani Senate. He is the youngest and first chairman of the Senate from Balochistan .

Life

Sanjrani was born in Nok Kundi . He has five brothers and he is the oldest. Sanjrani's brother, Raziq Sanjrani, is the director of Saindak Metals Limited. Mir Muhammad Ejaz Sanjrani, another brother, works as coordinator for the Chief Minister , Jam Kamal Khan, just like Sadiq Sanjrani used to do . Sajid Sanjrani's father, Khan Muhammad Asif Sanjrani, is an influential tribal leader from the Chagai district. His father is also a member of the Chagai District Council. He belongs to the Sanjrani Baloch ethnic group.

He did his master’s degree in Islamabad , other sources speak of Balochistan. Sadiq Sanjrani began his political career in 1998 as the coordinator of Nawaz Sharif . He held the office until the 1999 military coup. In 2008 he took on administrative tasks for five years in the secretariat of the then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani of the Pakistan People's Party .

Sadiq Sanjrani was elected to the Senate as an independent candidate in the 2018 Senate election in Pakistan . He took the oath of office as senator in March 2018. He received 57 votes out of 103 and defeated Raja Zafar ul Haq from the PML-N party. ul Haq received 46 votes. With the support of various parties, Sanjrani was able to secure the office of chairman of the Senate. Sanjrani is the first Senate chairman from Balochistan and, at 39, the youngest ever elected. Until his election as chairman, Sanjrani was rather a stranger to Pakistani politics.

In September 2018, Sanjrani gave a speech on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Parliament . In an interview, Sanjrani said that good diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China are good for Asian development. Sanjrani came under fire when he excluded the information minister Fawad Chaudhry from future Senate meetings. Sadiq Sanjrani has a lot of administrative know-how, having worked in various government positions. He has also worked as a Special Assistant for the former Chief Minister , Nawab Sanaullah Zehri . Sadiq Sanjrani is currently CEO of the Pakistan Testing Service and the Sanjrani Mining Company. Sanjrani also holds the position of Executive Director of the HR Committee for the National Industrial Parks Development and Management Company.
