Saghynbek Qaidaruly Mutaschew ( Kazakh Сағынбек Қайдарұлы Мұташев , Russian Сагынбек Хайдарович Муташев Sagynbek Chaidarowitsch Mutaschew * 25. August 1966 in Dschanybek , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh politician .

Life

Saghynbek Mutashev was born in 1966 in the village of Janybek . He studied at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in Alma-Ata , where he graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1990.

Mutashev began his professional career in July 1990 at Uralskneftegasgeologija, a foundation that conducts geological surveys and searches for oil and gas in the West Kazakhstan region . In January 1992, he was already working for the Kazakhgas company, for which he held various positions for five years. From December 1997 he was General Director of Uralsktransgas and in December 1998 he became General Director of a Kazakh state company. In April 1999 he became president of Aksaigasserwis, a subsidiary of the state-owned oil company Kazakhoil , in Aqsai . Between October 1999 and September 2000, Mutashev was an adviser to the President of Kazakhstan. He then became president of the Uralskoblgas company, which he remained until June 2004. In June 2004 he held political office for the first time in his career by becoming Äkim of Börili district . On July 7, 2005, he was appointed mayor of the city of Oral . He held this post until April 2008, after which he was an advisor to the city administration. From March 2009 he worked in the Kazakh Ministry of Environmental Protection, where he was chairman of the Committee on Environmental Regulations and Control. He worked here until February 2012.

On February 28, 2012, Mutashev was arrested. He was accused of bribery in his capacity as chairman of the environmental regulations committee. Police said he took a $ 100,000 bribe from a mining company to issue permits to dump industrial waste in a river in eastern Kazakhstan . Since he did not appear in court at a hearing on August 25 of that year, he was put on the wanted list of the Kazakh financial police. Since then, Interpol has also been looking for him.
