economy
With the opening of the large Karachaganak oil and gas production facility , Aqsai received an impetus for faster development. In the early and mid-1980s, construction workers from countries belonging to the Council for Mutual Economic Aid settled in the city ; especially from Czechoslovakia , GDR , Hungary and Bulgaria . They provided the construction of the lines on the oil field and housing. Originally it was assumed that the raw materials from the area would be completely processed in the Orenburg gas plant . Since then, the city has retained the name “Czech, German houses, Hungarian town” ( “чешские”, “немецкие” дома, венгерский городок ). At the same time, a number of underground nuclear explosions for the creation of underground storage facilities were carried out in the area. Currently, all voids that resulted from the explosion are preserved and have no effect on oil production. The controls on the condition of the cavities are carried out by the National Nuclear Center of Kazakhstan .
traffic
In the city there is a railway station from Oral to Sol-Ilezk .
