The city is part of the Badaun district . Sahaswan is about 331 km northwest of Lucknow . Sahaswan has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 66,204 inhabitants, of whom 34,467 were men and 31,737 women. Muslims make up the majority of the city's population.
