Sahel (Tunisia)
Sahel ( Arabic ساحل, DMG Sāḥil 'coast') refers to a region on the Mediterranean coast in Tunisia . The Tunisian Sahel extends south of the city of Hammamet along the Gulf of Hammamet to Mahdia . The metropolis of the region, also known as the “Pearl of the Sahel”, is Sousse .
Historically, this is a region of exchange that is primarily characterized by trade and tourism .
