The Saikai National Park ( Japanese 西海 国立 公園 , Saikai Kokuritsu Kōen ) extends over the western sea areas ( saikai ) in Nagasaki Prefecture of the Kyūshū region , the southernmost of the four main Japanese islands. The land area of the national park, which has existed since March 16, 1955, comprises more than 400 islands. The largest islands are Fukue-jima and Nakadori-jima , which belong to the Gotō Islands , and the two coastal islands Hirado-jima and Ikitsuki-jima . The coastal archipelago Kujūkushima also belongs to the national park .
