Sainthia is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal .

The city is part of the Birbhum district . Sainthia has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 16 wards . It had 44,601 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 22,856 were men and 21,745 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 87%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 11%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 79.5%, slightly above the national average.

Sainthia is an economically important city and one of the busiest business centers in the central part of West Bengal. The economy is based on agricultural products and trading in them.
