The authentics Salamander ( Salamandra ) are a genus of Caudates (caudata or Urodela) from the family of the Real Salamander developed (Salamandridae) with higher, in some cases even viviparous species that predominantly terrestrial life. Depending on the systematic overview, six to ten species are currently differentiated within this genus, which occur in Europe and the neighboring regions of North Africa and the Near East .
