The Berlin Senate Library is a specialist academic library for the administration of the State of Berlin and the general interested public. Since January 1st, 2005 it has been part of the Central and State Library in Berlin . At the same time, it houses the special collection areas of local science (SSG 3.8) and non-conventional materials on urban development, regional planning, spatial planning from the German-speaking area (SSG 20.1).

The library building archive has been open to the public as part of the Senate Library since June 14, 2001. It was taken over by the former German Library Institute in spring 2001.

The Senate Library was in the Ernst-Reuter-Haus until mid-2011 , and since then in the Berlin City Library . Its manager is Marion Hecker-Voss .
