The Treptow-Köpenick City Library is a public library system sponsored by the Treptow-Köpenick District Office . The library has a media inventory of 271,986, which were borrowed around 1.2 million times by 605,915 visitors in 2018. In addition, the library organized over 1700 events, guided tours and exhibitions during the same period. The two most important institutions are the central libraries , which emerged from the former districts of Köpenick and Treptow.

The Treptow-Köpenick City Library participates in the Association of Public Libraries in Berlin (VÖBB) and is part of the nationwide interlibrary loan system.
Projects
A media, cultural and social center was created as part of the project for the renovation of the listed old fire station and a new addition to the Treptow library . The opening took place in 2015. The focus in this library is on promoting reading and teaching reading skills. The project was financed from funds from the Treptow-Köpenick district and the State of Berlin as well as from funds from the BIST Libraries in the District program from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
With the participation in the project TENIVER - Technological innovation in the information supply also from funds of the EFRE, Treptow-Köpenick introduced the self-booking of media with the help of the RFID technology.
