Sali Turan
Sali Turan (* 1949 in Trabzon ) is a Turkish painter .
Life
Turan studied at the Istanbul Ataturk Teaching Institute between 1970 and 1974 and at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts from 1976 to 1981. From 1978 to 1986 he taught at the Istanbul University Istanbul University and Marmara University , the Uludağ University in Bursa and in Eskişehir art. In 1984 he received his doctorate and in 1985 he became a university lecturer. In 1986 he gave up his university activities so that he could concentrate only on his art. Since then he has been working as a freelance artist in Istanbul. Between 1996 and 2001 he toured Europe and North America. Sali rarely gets involved in exhibitions because he is of the opinion that they restrict his freedom. Nevertheless, he was able to achieve a considerable degree of popularity in Turkey.
