geography

The Salisbury River has its source at a southwestern branch of Mosquito Mountain on the west coast of Dominica ( La Savane ). It gets its name from the place of the same name, near which it also flows. The river rises with two main source streams on the high plateau, runs south through Jimico , where the source streams merge and then turns west. It flows through Grande Savane and turns south again before Salisbury , before flowing into the Caribbean Sea at Salisbury Estate .
