St Peter and St Paul
The church of St Peter and St Paul in Salle dates from the first half of the 15th century. Since the construction and maintenance was financed by numerous local gentlemen, the church turned out to be relatively large for the place. There are numerous breams in the church, the lower part of the rood screen is preserved, some of the medieval stained glass windows and 26 misericords (13 on each side of the choir ), although St Peter and St Paul was never a collegiate monastery .
Since the Boleyn family were among the supporters of the church and some of the bream can be attributed to them, it is natural that the rumor arose that Anne Boleyn was buried in St Peter and St Paul; in fact, she was buried in the Church of St. Peter ad Vincula in London, where her skeleton was found during renovations in 1876.
