Sallie Krawcheck
Sallie Krawcheck (* 1965 in Charleston , South Carolina ) is an American bank manager and was CEO of Smith Barney until 2008 .
biography
She grew up in Charleston. There she attended the exclusive Porter-Gaud School . During her school days she was known locally as a track and field athlete . She holds a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School .
Prior to joining Smith Barney, she was Citigroup's Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ). According to a list of 100 most powerful women in the world of Forbes Magazine she was in 2005 and 2006, the most powerful of the 10 women in the world. In 2002 it was also listed by Time in the list of "Global Influentials".
Krawcheck has also been on the Dell Board of Directors since 2006 , responsible for finance.
