Sally Gray

Sally Gray (born February 14, 1916 in Holloway , London , † September 24, 2006 in London; actually Constance Vera Stevens ) was an English film actress of the 1930s and 1940s.

Life

Sally Gray played mostly in musicals and light comedies. She was a blonde and had a seductive throaty voice. Gray was a stage actress as a child before making her way in film in the 1930s. She attended Fay Compton's School of Dramatic Arts . From 1942 she had to retire from acting due to illness. From 1946 she made a comeback with films such as Achtung: Grün ( Green for Danger , 1946), Ein Herz geht los ( Carnival , 1946) and Convict 3312 ( They Made Me a Fugitive , 1947). The directors of RKO were so excited about Sally Gray that they authorized producer William Sistrom to offer her a long-term contract if she came to the United States. She declined the offer and stayed in England.

Sally Gray married Dominick Browne, 4th Baron Oranmore and Browne in 1951 and remained his wife until his death in 2002.
