William Sistrom
William "Billy" Sistrom (born March 19, 1884 in Lincolnshire , England , † March 3, 1972 in the United States ) was a British film producer.
Life
He began his work in the film industry at Universal Pictures and went to RKO in 1935 , where he was involved in the cinematic implementation of Leslie Charteris ' work "The Saint in New York" . He produced thirty British and American films between 1930 and 1949.
Sistrom also worked as a studio manager. From 1925 on he was the studio manager of Hollywood Center Studios for a period .
Sistrom had two sons who were born in the United States; Microbiologist William and Hollywood producer Joseph .
He married actress Rosalyn Boulter when he was 68 and she was 36. Boulter's daughter, Carol Haynes Johnson , who was eight when the two married, described William Sistrom as “kind, loving, giving. I used to call him 'Daddy'. Daddy came into our lives when I was about four. ” After the wedding, William retired and the family moved to Phoenix , Arizona , where Sistrom ran a turkey farm for a while.
