The Salmon Glacier is a small glacier in the Denton Hills of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located 8 km west-southwest of Cape Chocolate and immediately south of Salmon Hill .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott originally named it Davis Glacier . The New Zealand geological team of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956-1958) renamed it to its current form in order to avoid confusion with the Davis Glacier of the same name . The name given to Salmon Hill by Frank Debenham on the Terra Nova Expedition after the salmon-colored rock of the hill.
