William H. McLellan

William H. McLellan (born November 25, 1832 in Skowhegan , Maine , † March 25, 1912 in Belfast , Maine) was an American lawyer and politician who was Maine Attorney General in 1879 .

Life

William Henry McLellan was born in Skowhegan, Maine in 1832 to William H. Mclellan (1803–1879) and Roxana Woodside (1806–1874).

McLellan served in the Maine Senate in 1872 , was Attorney General of Maine in 1879, and ran for a seat in the United States Congress in 1879 as a member of the Democratic Party .

He married Angeline Nickels (1840-1906) and they had five children. William H. McLellan died on March 25, 1912. His grave is in Grove Cemetery, Belfast.
