Jonathan P. Rogers

Jonathan P. Rogers (* in Kennebec County , Maine ; † in Boston ) was an American lawyer and politician , and from 1832 to 1833 Maine Attorney General .

Life

Jonathan P. Rogers was born in Kennebec County, Maine. In 1825 he came to Bangor , Maine.

He was admitted to the bar in 1826. Together with the later governor of Maine Edward Kent , he ran a law firm in Bangor from 1828 to 1831. As a member of the Democratic Party , he was Attorney General of Maine from 1832 to 1833. He was a member of the Maine Senate in 1834. He ran unsuccessfully against Kent for governor in 1837.

Rogers was married to Lydia M. Page and had one son. He moved to Boston and died there at the age of 46.
