Otis L. Bridges

Otis L. Bridges (born February 21, 1798 in Charlotte , Maine , † 1870 in Stockton , California ) was an American lawyer and politician , also from 1842 to 1843 Maine Attorney General .

Life

Otis Livingston Bridges was born in Charlotte, Maine. He attended Bowdoin College , which he graduated in 1822. He then worked as a teacher and studied law . After he was admitted to the bar, he moved to Calais and opened a law firm there. This made him the first lawyer in Calais.

Later he was also Justice of the Peace of Calais. As a member of the Democratic Party , Bridges was Maine Attorney General from 1842 to 1843.

Bridges later moved to Worcester , Massachusetts , then on to Stockton, California in 1857. There he also worked as a lawyer. Otis L. Bridges was married and had two daughters. He died in 1870.
