Ransford W. Shaw

Ransford W. Shaw (born June 3, 1856 in Centerville , Maine , † 1945 in Houlton , Maine) was an American lawyer and politician who was Maine Attorney General from 1921 to 1924 .

Life

Ransford Wayman Shaw was born in Centerville to James Barlow Shaw and Deborah Gallop.

As a member of the Republican Party , he was a member of the Maine Senate from 1893 to 1895 and was Maine Attorney General from 1921 to 1924. Shaw was a delegate to the Republican National Convention of Maine in 1932.

Because of his interest in local Maine history, he helped found the Aroostook County Historical and Art Museum in 1938.

Shaw was married to Elizabeth White McClintock. They had seven children. He died in Houlton in 1945. His grave is in Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton.
