Warren C. Philbrook

Warren C. Philbrook (born November 30, 1857 in Sedgwick , Maine , † May 31, 1933 in Waterville , Maine) was an American judge and politician who was Maine Attorney General from 1909 to 1910 .

Life

Warren Coffin Philbrook was born to Luther G. Philbrook and Angelica Coffin. He attended the Coburn Classical Institute and graduated from Colby College in 1882. After serving as a teacher and principal of the Waterville Hich School, he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1884.

A member of the Republican Party , Philbrook was a judge on the Municipal Court of Watervill and Mayor of Waterville from 1899 to 1900. Was a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1897 to 1900. Maine Attorney General was Philbrook from 1909 to 1911.

On April 9, 1913, Philbrook was appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court by Governor William Heines . He was a member of the court until his retirement on November 9, 1928.

He was a Freemason , a member of the Knights of Pythias and a Unitarian .

Warren C. Philbrook was married to Ada Foster. He died on May 31, 1933, in Waterville. His grave is in Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterville.
