Alexander A. LaFleur

Alexander Arthur LaFleur called Alex LaFleur (born May 29, 1896 in Marlborough , Massachusetts , † March 13, 1980 in Chapel Hill , North Carolina ) was an American lawyer and politician who was Maine Attorney General from 1951 to 1954 .

Life

Alexander Arthur LaFleur was born in Marlborough to Isaac Lafleur and Ludivinia Miller. He studied at Colby College and the George Washington Law School.

In the First World War he took part as a private . He then worked as a lawyer in Portland, Maine. He also served in World War II . Under George Patton he was a member of the court martial in Germany. As a member of the Republican Party , he was a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1939 to 1941 and Maine Attorney General from 1951 to 1954.

Alexander A. LaFleur was married to Marjorie Frances French Lafleur (1901–1988). LaFleur died on March 13, 1980 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His grave is in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
