Salomon Fehrenbach

Salomon Fehrenbach (born January 7, 1812 in St. Märgen ; † August 18, 1892 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a lawyer, local poet and liberal politician.

Coming from a rural family, Fehrenbach studied law at the University of Freiburg and then entered the civil service, where he worked as a civil servant in Kenzingen , Ettlingen , Säckingen , Schopfheim and Freiburg.

From June 27, 1848 until the end of the rump parliament in June 1849, Fehrenbach was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly as a member of Schopfheim. Since April 1849 he was a member of the committee for the implementation of the imperial constitution .

In 1850 he was expelled from Säckingen for "riot", in 1852 he was sentenced to imprisonment for "possession of seditious writings". A lively, free exchange of ideas took place in the Freiburg Lodge Zur noble Aussicht , into which he was admitted in 1866 and held the post of speaker.
