The grand ducal salon building is a building in Bad Doberan in the Rostock district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). The salon building was built in 1801/02 as a dining and social building by the building manager Johann Christoph Heinrich von Seydewitz and the city architect Carl Theodor Severin . It is located at August-Bebel-Straße 3. Today it is used as an administration building for the Rostock district and for events in the ballroom. The ballroom is considered to be the best preserved interior in the city.

Restorations

Carl Theodor Severin decided to add a dance and dining room and the Empire ballroom on the garden side from 1819 to 1821 and to change the exterior of the building. In 1957 the exterior changes were returned to the original state. Many internal changes were made as a result of the renovation for the district council .

The salon building is a two-storey, elongated and classical plastered building with 17 axes and a medium risalit .
