The carrier is the Caritas Association in the Archdiocese of Paderborn . The headquarters of the facility is in Hövelhof - Klausheide .

The home consists of 14 residential groups, some of which are located in neighboring Paderborn. 102 dormitory places can currently be occupied. There is a vocational training center and its own replacement special school of secondary education .

Mistreatment allegations

In May 2003, the news magazine Der Spiegel wrote about a former home inmate who reported severe abuse and exploitation through forced labor by the home management in 1970.

The responsible Caritas Association in Paderborn rejected some of the allegations a short time later. Nevertheless, other former residents also spoke about the poor conditions at the time. The so-called "voluntary work" included cutting peat, pre-assembling the car headlights for Hella, and installing the spring cores in the mattresses for the mattress manufacturer Dunlopillo.
